Gig championships the biggest yet

The annual event is the busiest weekend of the year.
The contest was the biggest yet, with a record 103 gigs lining up for the first men’s race, the most since the championships began.
Some 95 gigs took part in the ladies’ event.
“It’s quite a sight. I can understand why everyone wants to be involved,” committee member Kevin Sherris told the BBC.
