On the morning of December 25, a distress call was taken from a yacht off Scilly. The St Mary’s Lifeboat, “The Whiteheads” was summoned, and soon rescued the couple who were on the yacht. One of the local lifeboatmen offered a Christmas meal with his family on the Islands.
