Marian Gibson was competing at the British Power Lifting Championships 2001 at Birmingham Sports Centre. She broke the British record twice, won her 60kg-class event and was awarded the best overall female lifter award. Last year she came sixth in the 60 kg-class event in the European Championships in Luxemburg.
