Primary schools from all of the islands gathered together today in the annual sport’s day which comes about at the end of the summer term.
The pupils competed against each other in their teams: Bishop, Wolf and Round Island, all names of lighthouses in the Islands.
Infants competed against each other; and the juniors against each other.
Morning events are the multi-sports, where the pupils go around the playgrounds doing the individual tasks such as netball shooting, bat-and-ball, 800 m and skipping.
In the afternoon the teams events take place, with the athletics, tug-of-war, relays, obstacle courses.
bSecondary School/b
Isles of Scilly Secondary School, which already has the off-island students in it’s enrolment, had it’s sport’s day last month.
The students are divided into key-stage-3 competitors and key-stage-4.
The student compete in teams: Tean, Gilstone, Gunners, Annet, Gugh - all names of places in the Islands. ‘Annet? house were the winners this year.
