The transition of the Isles of Scilly Environmental Trust to a ‘Wildlife Trust? is being celebrated on ‘Launch Day? - the 13 September 2001 - when well known bird enthusiast, environmentalist and TV personality Bill Oddie will formally open the new IOS Wildlife Trust ‘Visitor Centre? on St. Mary’s quay at approximately 2:00 pm.

The Trust is looking for volunteers to allow the facility to be manned continuously during daylight hours during the summer season. Anyone interested should contact the Trust office by telephone, fax or e-mail.

The Woolpack Volunteer Centre, where volunteers have been staying this summer, will be open for viewing from 2:30 to 5:00 pm.

There will be opportunities for guided walks of the nature trails in the afternoon, weather permitting.
