25 days after the British International celebrated 3 million passengers, the Steamship Company has done the same.

Mr and Mrs James received a bottle of wine and a bouquet of flowers after hearing that they were the 3 millionth passenger carried by the Steamship Company, including both air and sea travel.

British International has been operating since 1963 (38 years old), and their 10 helicopters had flown 3 million customers by 10 August 2001. The Scillonian III, however, started in 1977 (24 years old), so is 14 years younger than the helicopter service. The SkyBus was established in 1984.

The most popular form of transport is the novel helicopter service, carrying only a small amount more than the Scillonian, which, in recent years, only operates in the summer season. The SkyBus is the Steamship Company’s all-year solution.
