Two local youths were arrested on Penzance Quay when en route to the Islands last week for possession of cannibis. Police enquiries are continuing.

There was a two-day campaign organised by the police to disrupt drug trafficking into the Islands. Class A and B drugs were found. Luggage, passengers and mail arriving on the Islands were checked by six extra police and two drugs dogs. Some Island properties were also investigated. Arrests were also made for public order and drunkness offences.
Six people were arrested, two cautioned, others were due to appear before a magistrates on 1 August.
A police spokesman said that is was a success, despite showing that drugs are on the Islands. He said police are continuing to gather intelligence on drugs. He urges people to contact the police if they have any information about drugs or other issues.
