The Isles of Scilly will soon have its name in lights as Why the Whales Came become a west end show.

An Exeter based company Theatre Alibi is hoping to entertain schools from all over the company with the story that is based on Bryher.

The show runs from December 10th-January 7th and the underground stations in the capitol are already advertising the children’s favourite.

The story was written by Children’s Laureate, Michael Morpurgo. The story was made into a major film in 1988 that was made on the islands.

This week it was announced the author has been nominated for a Whitbread Award
