The founder of the airline which used to provide one of Scilly’s transport links has died.
Brymon Airways airline company chairman, Bill Bryce, died in New Zealand.
Mr Bryce had been called ?one of the fathers of the aviation industry’. He was a New Zealander born and bred but made Plymouth his home. He bought his first plane for ?40,000 and along with three others made his first trip to the islands.
Tributes have flooded in for Mr Bryce decribing him as an important part in aviation history.
Brymon Airways have no been taken over by British Airways.
Mr Bryce had suffered from bad health for some time.
