If the thought of Valentines’s Day is starting to depress you single ladies then the Isles of Scilly is the place to be if you’re looking for love.
According to figures, single men outnumber single women by 33% in the islands making it one of the highest proportions in the UK.
But those singletons Scillonians are going to have to travel far and wide to find single ladies. Single women outnumber their male counterparts by 12% in Knowsley, Merseyside, and in Hackney, east London, with the figure dropping to 11% in Wandsworth, south-west London.
Figures show that 38% of men see personality as the most important dating trait, with having a nice car at 20% and looks, sense of humour and political views all trailing at 14%.
For women, 49% believe personality is the most important trait, with sense of humour at 19% and intelligence at 14%.
The survey was conduceted for UpMyStreet.com and interviewed 2,450 people.
