Islanders are being warned to expect severe storms over the next few days.

The BBC Weather Centre has predicted that winds of 70mph will hit the region although some locals think that they mat actually reach over 100mph.

Cornwall and the islands were drenched with just over one inch of rain this week.

The environment agency have warned the region to prepare for the adverse weather conditions.

The coastguard in Cornwall are already on alert after a P&O ferry was redirected to Falmouth on its way to Ireland.
