The island’s Chief Constable has issued a New Year message for the islands.
Maria Wallace, who has held the post for 18 months, has highlighted the police force’s achievements in 2003 in Devon, Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly.
The main success highlighted was a reduction in crime of 1.3%.
But she also stated that are improvements will be made in 2004.
“I am very much looking forward to serving the people of Devon, Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly over the next year, and am confident that we will continue to be one of the safest places to live in the country.”
