Regional assemblies have been a hot issue in the south west with big campaigns in Cornwall to get their own Cornish Assembly. That idea might be a long way off but a south west assembly was a little closer to home.
But not any more. A new poll has revealed that just 18 per cent of people identified with the vast “region”.
The YouGov poll, commissioned by the Conservative group on the Local Government Association, also disocovered that once people were told the arguements for an against people’s support wavered.
The South West assembly was proposed to cover an area from the Isles of Scilly to far as Gloucester and Bournemouth.
