The bomb squad arrived with RNAS Culdrose on Tuesday to detonate two phosperous smoke floats. But it wasn’t just the bombs they made safe- they also rescued a seal pup.
The four soldiers were called to the islands after visitors found the smoke floats on beaches near the heliport on St Mary’s and Great Par on Bryher.
But on St Mary’s they discovered a seal pup tangled in fishing nets and rescued it.
The bombs were exploded safety.
