Radio One’s Dr David Bull will be presenting the medals at this year’s Tresco Marathon.
The annual race, which will be held in April, has grown over the last few years and now attracts runners from all over the world who find the London Marathon a little too easy!
This year airmen from RNAS Culdrose will also be taking on the 26.2 mile race.
But locals are just as keen to take part in the challenge. Some of this year contenders are Toby Tobin- Dougan from St Martins, Helen Pearce from St Mary’s, Nicola Brint from Tresco, Roz Hicks from St Mary’s and Ginny Hulands from Bryher.
Also running are Fiona and Pete Hingston who came up with the idea after their daughter was diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis.
The celebrity who will start the race will be announced shortly.
