Scilly could get power problems

Scilly could end up with severe electricity problems in the next couple of years.

A new television programme for the BBC says that the UK has a “clapped out” system and the country was far too dependent on gas.

But the Department of Trade & Industry have revealed that old power stations may be reopened.

London and Birmingham both experienced serious blackouts last year.

The off islands were only connected with mains electricity in 1986. Before that homes relied on generators.
