Andrew George, MP for the Isles of Scilly, has call on the Government to support him in his fight to change Animal Welfare Legislation. The Local MP has spoken out against a loophole that allows people who have been banned for life from keeping animals to still buy animals.

This follows the recent conviction of Roger baker from Ventongimps near Truro who had previous convictions of animal cruelty spanning 30 years and found guilty of pushing an Animal Health Inspector and a Vet into a slurry pit.

Defra has announced that it is looking into tightening the legislation.
