Tourists visiting Scilly this summer may struggle to get as far as Cornwall.

Virgin Trains has revealed that it might have to scrap some summer services because they haven’t got enough trains to cover the Manchester to Newquay service.

David Ewart a spokesman for Virgin Cross Country told Scilly News: “We are doing our upmost to make sure that visitors travelling to Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly are not affected by the trains.”

He says that it isn’t a case of cancelling trains yet.

Visitors flying from Newquay to Scilly and are planning to use this service should call their customer realtions line on 0870 789 1234.
