Two paramedics from the Isles of Scilly have been given awards for their work.

Tony Smith, the Isles of Scilly Ambulance technician, was awarded a pre-hospital trauma life support course certificate at one of the two ceremonies at Yelverton in Devon.

Michael Wills, the Chief Executive of Westcountry Ambulance Service said: “It is right that hard work and effort is recognised and celebrated. Whilst some staff are receiving hard earned qualifications, others are being recognised for their long service and good conduct.”

“All are equally deserving and should be proud of their achievements.”

Another Scillonian also received an award. Claudia Morley, from St Mary’s is a paramedic in Penzance. She received an ambulance paramedic certificate.
