On Thursday 22 April, a new ambulance arrived on Scilly.

According to ambulance driver, Tony Smith: “(The new ambulance) will be used as a Rapid Response Vehicle and will replace the Vauxhall car, with the added bonus that it’s a 4x4. So we should now be able to reach more of the out of the way and inaccessible places faster.”

He added: “The Mercedes Ambulance will also be staying on St Mary’s to act as a routine patient transfer vehicle, covering non-emergency and routine transfers.”
