The islands A crew in the Emma Louise have taken first place of the first heat of the championships. Falmouth’s Idas came in just behind.
In the men’s first heat Miller’s Daughter from Carrodan crossed the finish line first before (a full 3 length’s behind) Falmouth’s Irene came in second. Miller’s Daughter’s stroke Nigel Churcher told Scilly News: “It is a bit of a cat and mouse game at the moment. Sometimes gigs can come fourth or fifth everytime and then in the final beat everyone. Its a case of conserving your energy so we aren’t getting our hopes up just yet.”
The second round of heat’s is at 430.
