Marian Gibson from St Mary’s has travelled far across the water to France this weekend to take part in the World Powerlifting Championships.
Marian, who is originally from Bryher is in the British squad and broke a world record back in March at the Yorkshire and North East County Division Championships.
But she is used to breaking records in 2003 alone she broke 19 British records including 3rd place at the European Powerlifting Championships in Slovakia.
