Radio 4 listeners will be in for a treat next week when a series of tales that were inspired by Scilly are broadcast.

The stories were written by Scavel Cow which means “gossip” or “bench of stories.” They group are made up of Cornish writers who in 2003 started a residency on Tresco and were inspired to write these tales.

They inclue a tale of a fighter who is saved by an angel and a hairdressing club on the islands that fall for a shipwrecked man.

The stories will be broadcast Monday 19th-Friday 23rd July at 3pm on BBC Radio 4.
