Fog bound passengers stuck on Scilly may soon be getting a bit more help. A Tourism Meeting that was held on Thursday decided that the airport should have a new Tourist Information Booth to help passengers stuck on the islands.
Scilly is in an unusual position because weather bound passengers can often be left with no accomodation. The booth will help to provided stranded customers with help and advice. It will be funded out of the Tourism Champion budget
Tourism Champion Richard Wilcox told Scilly News “The whole idea behind this was to ensure closer communication between transport operators , the council and the accommodation providers by having a manned information stand at these fog times. The more assistance we can get the better our service will be to the stranded visitors.”
