Islanders from St Mary’s did their bit for Sports Relief on Saturday by taking part in the One Mile Challenge.

The fifteen runners set off from the Health Centre car park, ran around Peninis and down past Old Town Church.

Local GP Doctor Dalton told Scilly News: “We had lots of walkers and wellwishers cheering us on. I think we raised about ?250 all together so we are really pleased.”

Runners took part all over the country in the One Mile Challenge. They included Tony Blair and Prince William. It is estimated that Sports Relief raised ?11 million.
