It was the event that almost didn’t go ahead. When the posters go up islanders can be sure of one thing: the weather. Sunday’s Bryher fete was almost cancelled after heavy rain and winds in the morning.
But for the forth year running the skies cleared and bright sunshine encouraged nearly a thousand people to flock to Southard Green.
And visitors obviously thought it was worth it as the event raised ?4,000 for island causes.
