The annual Round the Island Race was last Sunday. In change to it’s normal route, the boats went anticlockwise around St Mary’s from St Mary’s Quay and finishing back at the harbour.

There were a few festivities on Holgates Green. The bouncy castle was out, along with a small beer garden.

Half of those sailing on Sunday did not like the fact that they were to finish at St Mary’s Habour. The ‘rebels’ sailed the old route instead: from St Mary’s Quay then clockwise around St Mary’s and finishing at St Agnes. They spent the afternoon in the Turk’s Head.

The events on the water and on Holgates Green raised money for the medical launch.
