The BBC were filming on the Islands last week for the new series of Coast.

The popular BBC2 programme, which aired from July 2005, celebrates the unique character of the UK’s coastal communities, exploring human stories through a mixture of expert comment, contemporary storytelling and computer-generated images.

The 13-part series toured the entire coastline of England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland, but did not feature the Isles of Scilly.

The BBC crew filmed a football match between the two teams in Scilly’s football league, the smallest in the world, and spoke to archaeology expert Katharine Sawyer.
